The Altego branded Clear Laptop Sleeve is a new product from Samsill Corporation, a manufacturer of business cases, media storage, ring binders and sheet protectors with headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas. The main characteristic of Altego Clear Laptop Sleeve is transparent front panel which allows designer or stylist laptop, netbook or notebook computer with color, custom-designed lid, adhesive skin or even LED indicators to be seen while packing or carrying inside the sleeve to express individuality and personality.

The main functionality of a case is still protection to the computer, where Altego Clear Laptop Sleeve features Air Cushion technology as padding, which is similar to what running shoes use for shock absorption. Air Cushion uses air to shield and protect the computer from shock, impact and vibration, while allowing the front panel of the sleeve to be transparent. The sleeve also has a thick neoprene back panel with Cushion Cell lining to protect against bumps.

My Digital Life receives a 15.6 inch Altego Clear Laptop Sleeve for review, and we really like the protection it provides to the computer, which is just like air bubbles wrapping around the laptop. And the sleeve is water resistant for added protection against rain and moisture.

Using of Altego laptop sleeve is easy, as it has a clamshell double-zipper design which allows the laptop to be easily and quickly stored and place in. For frequent travelers, the laptop sleeve make the security clearance easier, as under TSA rules, laptop is not required to be removed from TSA-complaint sleeve.

Altego clear laptop sleeve has its non-practical aspects too. The sleeve-styled case does not have any carrying handle or strap. Thus, for a 15.6 inch notebook computer, the weight of the laptop makes carrying around impractical. There is no pockets or additional compartments, thus it’s impossible to bring along mice, power adapter and other important accessories. available However, the sleeve is an excellent protecting case for laptop to carry in another backpack or sling bag, as the sleeve does not add on any dimension or size significantly.

Though Altego Clear Laptop Sleeve provides great protection, but it has its Achilles’ heel and vulnerability weak point too, and that’s the side of the sleeve. Though the side of sleeve where the zipper locks and unlocks the sleeve case is also been padded, a thick laptop will most likely leave a gap between the padding, making the laptop may be damaged if it drops on the side.

The Altego Clear Laptop Sleeve is available in 10″, 13″ (coming soon), 14.1″, 15.6″ and 17″ models and come in a variety of colors including black, platinum, pink and coming soon in red. There is also models made specifically for Apple Mac and iPad. The prices range from $24.99 – $39.99 depending on size, though it’s possible to buy the sleeve case much cheaper at Amazon(aff). The Altego case is also sold at Dell.com, Tigerdirect.com, and Staples stores from January.

In conclusion, Altego Clear Laptop Sleeve is a worthy buy for people who values unique style and personality, and while doing so does not want to compromise on the protection for the computer. It’s especially suitable to small size netbook, notebook and laptop which typically has dimension of 13.3″ or less, and iPad, where the light weight allows it to be carried in arm. And the sleeve case is not expensive too.

The Altego Clear Laptop Sleeve is a new way to protect and show off your Laptop at the same time. Specially if you have one of those notebooks with the graphics on the lid, this is the perfect case for you. This clear neoprene sleeve is water resistant and has a cushion cell lining for padding. The material of the case seems to be real durable and although it is clear you will still need to take it out when going through airport security.

Laptop Hard Case  – Stylish Laptop Bag

In preparation for my move, I decided to pick up a laptop because the thought of my desktop being on a boat for two months suddenly made me realize that perhaps I should have an updated laptop on hand so I can work. I’m considering a good stylish laptop bag to carry it in since I’ll be toting it around airports and in London next month.

It’s always such a pain to find a stylish laptop bag, isn’t it? I mean, they’re always black nylon whenever I shop local stores. My choice is a large trucker style bag and it holds my 17 inch laptop (which I put in a protective sleeve) perfectly while leaving room for the rest of my daily gear. Like my power cord, folders, notebook and things like my wallet (which is also Queen Bee) phone, pouch of stuff and pencil case. The strap is made from a seat belt and is adjustable so when I’m on the subway or in the airport I can have it across my body, leaving my hands free for hauling luggage or holding a coffee.

A Good-looking, stylish laptop bag is not just the purview of women. Men – dare to be unique and stylish too! Whether you like classic style, fashion chic or funky function, there is a perfect laptop bag for you. Let’s take a look at some of the stylish laptop bags I have come across:

I’ve been wondering how I might start working more brocade, puffy sleeves, jeweled head pieces and snoods into my wardrobe. Fashionably Geek Reviews Altego Clear Laptop Sleeve

The folks at Samsill were kind enough to send us one of their clear Altego laptop sleeves for review, which we did. So, the question is whether or not the sleeve is the kind of thing worth spending your money on. The answer to that question is maybe— if you have a cool looking laptop and don’t really care about practical considerations.

As you can see in the gallery, the sleeve features a transparent, bubble-wrap style protective cover and a back panel featuring Samsill’s ‘Cushion Cell’ protective lining. If you drop your laptop and it lands squarely on its back or front, this lining might offer a reasonable amount of protection—but the sleeve is tight and the sides are completely vulnerable. So dropping your laptop on its side might be problematic.

The bottom line is that the Altego sleeve is really about style. If you have a cool custom decal (like my awesome Venture Brothers MusicSkin) this will show it off while you travel around with your laptop under your arm. Plus, the sleeve itself has a cool look and it comes in a variety of colors.

Of course, carrying it around under your arm is part of the problem here. I never really understood the purpose of putting a laptop in a sleeve then putting it in your backpack or messenger bag. Seems kind of redundant. Plus, if you have it in a bag, you lose the advantage of the sleeve’s TSA compliance—meaning you can’t breeze through airport checkpoints.

This sort of thing isn’t for me. Maybe if it was a little bigger, had some extra pockets and a handle—but as it is I much prefer my sturdy, protective Timbuk2 messenger bag. Although, at about $25, these sleeves are a fairly cheap option.

Altego 14-inch Clear Laptop Sleeve

Here is a laptop sleeve that can show off your laptop’s cool design. I know some people put skins and decals on their laptops. And the Altego Clear Laptop sleeve can show off that cool designed laptop.

The Altego sleeve has padding on both sides of the case. The front is clear Cushion Cell lining and the back has neoprene extra padding. The sleeve zippers up to protect against dust and grime getting into the laptop.

The Altego sleeve is checkpoint friendly with its clear front that makes it easy for a security guard at an airport to identify that you’re only carrying a laptop.

Overall a great sleeve case that can show the style of your laptop while protecting it. In addition the travel friendly features are a great plus for frequent flyers. This is a well made sleeve case that works perfect with my HP laptop. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a case with nice features.

Altego 10-Inch Clear Laptop Sleeve

Here is a cool laptop sleeve which is good for travelers. The Altego 10 inch clear laptop sleeve is perfect for you 10 inch Netbook. I have a HP Mini 10.2 2140 Netbook and this case fits it perfect.

Now the main thing that appeals to me about this case is the clear plastic display. This allows you to breeze through security checks at airports. The security guard can see the laptop inside the sleeve and you won’t have to remove it from the case. This is a timesaver for those who have to travel a lot.

The sleeve provides total protection from scratches, dust, dirt, and short falls. The interior of the case has extra firm padding to provide some shock absorption from falls.

The Altego 10 inch Clear Laptop Sleeve is an excellent simplistic case that gets the job done. It has a good design, well built, waterproof, and Checkpoint Friendly. I would highly recommend this case to anyone.

I’ve been trying to expand the variety of different home office supplies that I review here, and the nice folks over at Samsill were happy to help me out with that task.  When I saw their Altego Laptop Sleeve, I couldn’t get over the way it reminded me of a giant bubble wrap laptop sleeve and I had to get my hands on one to review.

The Altego 14 Laptop Sleeve Open with Neoprene Back

The 14.1″ Altego Laptop Sleeve that we are looking at here today has a unique air-bubble cushioning system to protect your laptop from shock, impact, and vibration, and the neoprene back panel has thick square cushions that also help to further protect your computer from bumps and scratches.  In addition to the protective support that this laptop sleeve gives your laptop, it is also TSA compliant, so you can make your way through airport security a little easier.

Altego 14 Laptop Sleeve with Laptop

The laptop shown in the photo above is a Dell XPS 13.3″ that even has the larger long-life battery and it still fits nicely in the Altego Laptop Sleeve.  Once the laptop was in there and zipped in, it was really snug and to me it felt really protected, although I wasn’t about to smash it, drop it, kick it, or anything like that to test that out. The zipper didn’t give me any problems, which I was happy about because in the past I’ve had other similarly designed items where zipping around a corner really slowed me down, but the zipper on this laptop sleeve worked very smoothly around the corners.

My only problem with this laptop case was that , I had to fight the extreme urge to start popping the bubbles on the front as if it really were a giant sheet of bubble wrap.  Obviously that wouldn’t end well if I still wanted to use this to protect my laptop, so I refrained from doing it.  Anyway, I think this looks like a great option if you are looking for a new laptop case that will be a little different and still do a great job of protecting your laptop.

I am not very handy, not a light packer, picking up after pets, an occasional traveler, Willing to pay for quality, fun loving, value conscious, loving this product.

Pros: Protective air cushions, Water resistant neoprene, Cushion Cell lining keeps laptop safe

Cons: No carrying handle of any kind, A little Expensive

When I bought my new laptop, I was bound to get a case to keep it nice and protected. This is the one I chose.

What drew me in is the Great design. It’s like Bubble wrapping your laptop! Naturally, I have read up on it and the Bubbles are just that.

They absorb shocks, impacts and vibrations that could be harmful or damaging to your laptop. It is constructed of Neoprene casing, molded EVA cushion cell lining and it is also water resistant.

I actually carry mine inside of another bag because it does not have a carrying handle of any kind. I don’t care though I love my case. It great because I don’t have to fumble around with a cover that flaps over or buckles. I just set it in and zip it up! Done and Done!

I really love the bubbles though. They just make me feel better about my computer. Like it has it’s own personal cushion of air protecting it. I need to protect my investment, don’t I?  Especially for this computer, it has already out preformed my old Sony Vaio.

I bought mine at Staples for around thirty dollars ON SALE, but I figured hey, new computer, new case.

Also available in Black, Red and Gray in different sizes for different laptops I highly recommend the Altego Notebook Sleeve.
